Mjøsa Dog Park is situated just south of Wood Hotel, on the other side of the river. In the dog park, dogs and their owners can stretch their legs, hone their skills on the obstacle course and romp about in an area constructed for activities and fun.
By the pump house, you can enjoy a lovely meal at Bolstad by Mjøsa. The small restaurant bases their menu on local produce, which you can enjoy with a glass of wine, beer or soft drinks. On the menu is Bolstad’s homemade pizza and ice-cream, as well as take away meals that you enjoy on the beach.
In the summer of 2023, a new outdoor arena with approximately 2100 seating places opens at Mjøsparken. The amphitheatre has a large court, and the area will be used for concerts and other events.
In the innermost part of Brumunddal marina you can find a guest port and unmanned fuel facilities for boats.
The world’s tallest wood building, Mjøstårnet, is situated right next to Mjøsparken. The high-rise was built by local businessman Arthur Buchardt, has 18 stories and a total height of 85,4 metres.
When in full bloom, the sensory garden looks and smells lovely. This truly is a beautiful place to enjoy the sun and the lake Mjøsa.
The river promenade connects the lake Mjøsa and Mjøsparken with the city centre of Brumunddal. The walk along the river Brumunda is pleasant and easily accessible. The promenade is paved, well suited for wheelchairs and designed with spots for fishing and several seating arrangements.
The city beach has the quality of a little lagoon at the Mjøsa lakeside. On the beach you can enjoy the sun from the morning until sunset.
The stationary table which can be found next to the basket court can be used freely. Bring your own ball and rackets and have yourself a match!
Along the main road E6 a resting area has been constructed between Mjøsparken and the freeway. The resting area is designed as a hill, named “Sukkertoppen” which can be translated as “The sugar mound”, and provides a great vantage point to Mjøsparken and the surrounding area.
Skibladner is the world’s oldest paddle steamer in timetabled service and one of Norway’s best-loved attractions, being 167 years old in August 2023. She is still powered by her steam engines from 1888 and offers a uniquely authentic experience of steamship travel in the 1800s.
The skating area covers 1.100 square metres, as well as a separate area of 250 square metres for younger children.
The sand volleyball course is available for anyone who want to play volleyball. Bring your own volleyball. The course has seating for an audience, so feel free to bring your friends or family to cheer you on!
Mjøsparken has two pétanque courses, both measuring up to international standards, 4 x 15 metres. The courses are framed with stone, and with benches turned towards the lake. The lovely sensory garden is also situated close by.
From the park area of Mjøsparken and towards the north along the shore of Mjøsa, a new promenade has been established. The promenade is great for walks as well as for bicycle rides.
The indoor swimming facility Mjøsbadet is situated a stone’s throw from Mjøsparken.
The miniature golf course consists of 12 courses, all decorated with popular figures from the universe of the famous Ringsaker-author Alf Prøysen. Large pots abounding with flowers surround the miniature golf area, creating a fun and colourful arena.
The playground in Mjøsparken is filled with fun activities for our youngest visitors. The playground was donated by the Brumunddal chapter of Lions Club.
For almost 100 years, the area which now has been transformed into the beautiful Mjøsparken was an industrial site. In 1916, the first sawmill was established on the lakeside plot.
The basket court covers 1.070 square metres, and has four baskets. In other words, it is set up as two courts which can also be split into four courts for street basket where only one basket is used.
There are public restrooms available within the park and next to the parking area by “the sugarmound”, the popular rest stop with a view over the lake Mjøsa and the surrounding area.
